Stuart, I wish you luck with this bid. But I think your requirement for planning permission will be rejected. But, dont let that make you give up. Be creative and improvise on the word 'Tent' which the owner would be allowed to pitch on the island. Perhaps think along the lines of the eden project in cornwall with transparent domes. Have you heard of I.D.Spiral, they create there own similar ones at a fraction of the cost, you can see it here http://www.idspiral.org/content/view/33/51/
or be like the wandering nomadic Arab kings that had the most incredible gigantic tent's, you could really start a nouveau bohemian movement on that island. Was a dream of mine to do something like that, but my impecuniousity prevents me.
